BioSpace has partnered with Indiana Biosciences Research Institute and over 20 Indiana organizations and educational institutions to bring the state’s life sciences industry to the national stage with the BioIndiana Hotbed map, an artistic representation of the region’s biotechnology and pharmaceutical economy.    There are 1,687 life sciences companies in Indiana and 56,198 Indiana residents who are employed in the life sciences industry. The Indiana life sciences industry contributes $63 billion in annual economic impact and $9.6 billion annually in product export. (Indiana Business Research Center at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business and BioCrossroads)   “Indiana has a robust, diverse life sciences ecosystem that is well known and championed here at home, but is not known outside of the state. Pulling together the BioIndiana Map was the perfect way for us to showcase many of the life sciences companies and academic institutions that contribute to the state’s strength in life sciences. We were honored to present a copy of the BioIndiana Map to former Indiana Governor and now Vice President Mike Pence as a thank you for his strong support of the life sciences industry,” said David Broecker, President and CEO of Indiana Biosciences Research Institute.   http://www.biospace.com   Download the map here
