Event Overview:

Successful forecasting for early-stage pharma products requires at least two things: (1) accurate estimates of development effort and (2) good models to predict potential commercial success. Most teams today rely only on internal company data to estimate development costs and timing, with limited access to industry benchmarks. Standard early-asset commercial models can be too high-level or too detailed, and are often difficult to customize to the asset under evaluation.

In this webcast, we’ll review a range of methods, data sets, and tools geared towards helping teams hone their approach to early-stage forecasting. We’ll look both at development cost / timing estimations, as well as analogue selection and different approaches to building a commercial forecast. Taken together, these methods will help pharma teams build insightful forecasts to help drive business decisions while reducing time and effort.

3 Key Take-aways:

  • Better approaches for development cost estimation, incorporating investigator grant costs
  • Integrating analogues and other methods to help with commercial valuations
  • Managing tradeoffs between detail and efficiency for early-stage forecasting
