Addressing the Aging Population Issue

Article

October 02, 2015.

Between 2000 and 2050, the proportion of the world's population over 60 years will double from about 11% to 22%. Older consumers are living longer and smarter and want solutions to prevent, treat or manage existing conditions to maintain and/or improve their quality of life. In addition, as the trend towards individual health management and healthy lifestyles grows, it will create a need to improve OTC access and drive new innovation for OTC brands resulting in new users, increased usage and stronger growth for the OTC market.   A Pharmaceutical Executive webcast at 11 am EST on October 12 will address these issues and ask: what does "healthy aging" mean to consumers, how can we address compliance issues for older consumers, and what are the most innovative delivery forms that will help address the specific needs of aging consumers in the OTC market?   The presenters are Stephen Tindal, Director of Scientific Affairs at Catalent Pharma Solution, and Monica Feldman, Head of Industry Research, Consumer Health for Euromonitor International Inc.   To register for the webcast, click here.
