Florida's Nephron to Cut 250 Jobs

Nephron Pharmaceuticals is to cut 250 jobs at its Orlando, FL manufacturing facility, according to the Orlando Business Journal.

   In October 2015, Nephron filed a WARN notice stating that 400 employees - almost its entire Orlando workforce - would be laid off between Jan. 1-15. But CEO Lou Kennedy later confirmed that only 180 of the 450 employees received layoff notices.   Nephron is shifting operations to South Carolina on account of the state's attractive tax incentives.
