Pharmaceutical Executive magazine is hiring a Senior Editor.
The Senior Editor is a full-time writing position responsible for developing content via the Pharm Exec brand through long-form feature stories, industry leadership profiles, current news postings, opinion blogs, videos and other social media platforms. The position also supports the Editorial Director by serving as a thought leader representing the publication within the biopharmaceutical industry through activities that include speaking at public events, moderating Pharm Exec web casts with external experts, and lending editorially-specific expertise to support advertiser/client outreach efforts of the Pharma Sciences Group sales staff.

Position Requirements:
Four-year degree in Journalism, English, Communications or other relevant field, Master’s preferred. Minimum 5 years of relevant journalism/writing experience, specifically within the sciences (healthcare, pharmaceutical, or biotech). Demonstrated competency in use of editing and proofreading skills to resolve stylistic, grammatical, and form of written material. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment; excellent written, technical writing and oral communications skills. Self-motivated, ability to work independently with minimal direction. Must have a portfolio of published content from the scientific, bio/pharm or health-related industry.
Other Key Success Attributes:
Knowledge of Alfresco and Drupel for uploading content to Web or Print portals is preferred. Demonstrates flexibility; can re-define role as needed and adapt to change. Seeks continuous mastery of new technical and business knowledge and encourages the same in others. Interacts professionally and appropriately within a variety of cultures and situations while attending trade shows, conferences, and performing other company-related assignments. Builds consensus, facilitates win-win business outcomes, is consistent between what is said and what is done, and gains and builds commitment to new ideas and courses of action. Clearly articulates, presents, and promotes ideas and issues before various audiences in professional settings. Demonstrates the ability to identify and solve problems quickly, decisively, and independently. Shares information, cooperates with others, and is comfortable participating as a part of a team. Familiarity with digital distribution channels and SEO; website content development experience preferred. Familiarity with desktop publishing software tools like Drupal, Censhare, and WordPress.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls (operate a computer and other office equipment); reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Required to read printed type of various sizes for various lengths of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Some travel (up to 20% of time) is required.
