Frustration Over US–EU Trade Agreement Delay

Article

June 15, 2015.

The European Parliament decision last week to postpone a vote on a free trade deal with the US has caused frustration among the business community. The delaying of the vote on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) resolution was attributed to a large number of amendments, but TTIP has become increasingly controversial in Europe, with much criticism from left wing and campaign groups concerning its potential impact on labor rights, environmental standards and public services.
G7 leaders have urged that agreement on the trade deal should be in place by the end of this year.
