Sanofi has launched a project to develop a vaccine against the Zika virus, which Reuters reports as "the most decisive commitment yet by a major vaccine producer to fight the disease". This week the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Zika virus an international public health emergency, with WHO Director-General Margaret Chan calling for the development of a vaccine as fast as possible.
