Sanofi Joins Fight Against Zika Virus

Sanofi has launched a project to develop a vaccine against the Zika virus, which Reuters reports as "the most decisive commitment yet by a major vaccine producer to fight the disease".   This week the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Zika virus an international public health emergency, with WHO Director-General Margaret Chan calling for the development of a vaccine as fast as possible.   Reuters reports that Sanofi believes the research and industrial infrastructure for its dengue vaccine can be "rapidly leveraged to help speed identification of a Zika vaccine candidate".   http://www.reuters.com/article/us-sanofi-zika-idUSKCN0VB0E3
