LOYAL CITIZEN: Always worked for (different iterations of) the same company
CAREER FOCUS: Diabetes
Om her most memorable moment.:
I still remember at the Lantus launch meeting, standing on the stage and issuing the challenge to the sales force to revolutionize the treatment of diabetes. When we launched Lantus in 2001, the peak forecast was $750 million, and we were pretty much told that we would never go beyond that. So when we hit $1 billion on the brand, we really celebrated. Now, in 2008, we're looking at moving toward $2 billion. And we know that there are still so many more people out there that we need to help.
