Brent Richards, MD, MSc, CEO and Founder, 5 Prime Sciences, is a global leader in human genetics, clinical medicine, and translational drug development. He is Professor of Medicine and Human Genetics at McGill University, Senior Lecturer at King’s College London, and a practicing endocrinologist, with more than 18 years of experience using human genetics to identify causal disease biology and inform drug development decisions. Brent has published extensively in human genetics leading findings in publications such as Nature, JAMA and Nature Genetics. He has worked with pharma, biotech, and investor teams to translate genetic evidence into target validation, biomarker strategy, patient selection, and portfolio decisions. He has served on GSK’s International Scientific Advisory Board for Human Genetics and is a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Royal Society of Canada College of New Scholars.
