Lunit, a company using AI to power cancer diagnostics and therapeutics, announced an agreement with German radiology network Starvision Service GmbH to incorporate the AI company’s technology across the entire network.1

In a press release, Lunit describes Starvision’s network as Germany’s largest. The company has 79 locations across the country and provides services in radiology, nuclear medicine, and radiation therapy. Starvision is also noted for being a leader in digital transformation in the healthcare industry.

According to the agreement, Lunit’s AI will be used across Starvision’s network in a phased rollout over the next five years.

In a press release, Starvision Service GmbH CEO Uwe Pfeifer said, “Lunit's AI solutions support our radiologists in delivering fast and accurate diagnoses. This strengthens diagnostic confidence and gives us more time to focus on what truly matters: the individual care of our patients.”

In the same press release, Lunit’s CEO Brandon Suh added, “Partnering with Starvision accelerates our vision of bringing AI-powered precision diagnostics into everyday clinical practice. Together, we are advancing a new era of radiology where technology enhances the expertise of physicians, delivering better outcomes for millions of patients in Germany and beyond."

Lunit has been making similar agreements to deploy its technology across cancer treatment networks in recent months.

In April, the company announced a partnership with SimonMed Imaging Partners to incorporate its tech into breast cancer screening.2 In a press release, the companies explained that Lunit’s INSIGHT DBT was selected to be used alongside Volpara Analytics to power SimonMed’s Personalized Breast Cancer Detection (PBCD) service.

SimonMed has 170 accredited centers and is supported by over 200 radiologists.

Lunit describes its technology as being able to improve sensitivity and specificity in breast cancer detection. SimonMed believes this will ensure earlier detection, faster turnaround times, and actionable insights for patients.

In a press release, SimonMed’s chief innovation officer Dr. Sean Raj said, “This is more than just an upgrade—it's an important step forward for our patient's health. We've evaluated a range of AI technologies, and Lunit's performance, speed, and clinical validation stood above the rest. This partnership enables us to offer the most precise and personalized mammogram experience to date—and when paired with our board-certified breast radiologists, we believe it offers the most advanced mammogram available today"

Dr. Raj, is also a fellow of The Society of Breast Imaging.

Dr. John Simon, MD, founder and CEO of SimonMed Imaging, added, “This is the most advanced AI solution we've ever adopted. It reflects our unwavering commitment to providing every patient we see with the most accurate, affordable, and proactive care possible."

Volpara Health is a Lunit Company providing AI solution to the United States. In the same press release, its CEO Craig Hadfield said, “SimonMed is leading by example. This is more than a technology upgrade—it's a transformation of care. With Volpara and Lunit, SimonMed is helping set a new standard for what modern high-quality breast screening should look like: data-driven, patient-focused, and grounded in clinical excellence."
