Silence Therapeutics and AbCellera launched respective common share public offerings, and Beyang Therapeutics and Remepy closed $30+ million oversubscribed Series A rounds.

Capital continues to flow toward clinical-stage and platform biotech companies this week, as firms across siRNA therapeutics, antibody discovery, AI-driven drug design and hybrid drug development each moved to shore up their balance sheets through public offerings and venture financing rounds.

Silence Therapeutics launches initial public offering

Silence Therapeutics plc commenced an underwritten public offering of approximately $150 million of its American Depositary Shares (ADS), each representing three ordinary shares in the capital of the company, in the U.S.1 The proposed offering was registered under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, as amended, and all of the ADSs were being offered by Silence. At the time of the launch, Silence says it intends to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 15% of the total number of ADSs proposed to be sold in the offering, at the public offering price, less underwriting discounts and commissions.1

Silence followed that announcement by pricing the offering at $13.50 per ADS, for a total of 12,962,963 ADSs.2 The company has also granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 1,944,444 ADSs at the public offering price, less the underwriting discounts and commissions.2 Gross proceeds from the offering are expected to be approximately $175 million, before deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and other offering expenses, and excluding any exercise of the underwriters' option to purchase additional ADSs.2

The offering is expected to close on or about August 13, 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. Jefferies, Morgan Stanley, Cantor and William Blair are acting as joint book-running managers for the offering.

AbCellera commences $200 million public offering

AbCellera Biologics Inc also announced that it has commenced an underwritten public offering of $200.0 million of its common shares and, in lieu of common shares to certain investors, pre-funded warrants to purchase its common shares.3 All of the common shares and pre-funded warrants will be offered by AbCellera, and the proposed offering will be subject to market and other conditions, with no assurance as to whether or when it may be completed, or as to its actual size or terms.3

AbCellera intends to use the net proceeds to fund the continued research, development and clinical advancement of its internal pipeline, including its lead clinical program, Abcl635, as well as for working capital and other general corporate purposes.3 Jefferies, J.P. Morgan, Cantor, UBS Investment Bank and BMO Capital Markets are acting as joint book-running managers for the proposed offering. The securities are being offered pursuant to a shelf registration statement on Form S-3ASR that was filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on February 27, 2025 and automatically became effective upon filing.

Beyang Therapeutics closes Series A round

Beyang Therapeutics announced the successful closing of an oversubscribed Series A financing round, raising nearly $30 million. The round was co-led by Legend Capital and Shanghai Healthcare Capital, with participation from China Medical System Holdings Limited, Fenglei Capital, Shanghai Sci-Tech Innovation Center Capital, and Harbor & Canton Capital.4 Existing investors Root Venture Partners and YuanBio Venture Capital also continued to support the round.

The proceeds are set to be used primarily to accelerate technological iteration of Beyang's core AI and molecular design and optimization platform, known as ExCEED, to advance key pipeline candidates through clinical and pre-clinical development, and to expand its international R&D and business development teams.4 The ExCEED platform integrates proprietary databases with AI and computational simulation technologies across molecular design, druggability optimization and biological evaluation, and its precision and stability were recently validated internationally, ranking eighth globally among more than 350 participants in the OpenADMET blind prediction challenge.4

"We observe that AI drug discovery is entering a 2.0 era characterized by vertical integration. Beyang's team combines deep industry experience with computational expertise, establishing a distinct moat with the ExCEED platform," said Fei Qi, executive director at Legend Capital. "The platform's ability to cover the full value chain, from de novo scaffold discovery to biological optimization—has been verified by experimental data, proving its capacity to continuously incubate high-potential candidates."

Remepy raises $36 million in Series A

Remepy has announced the closing of a $36 million Series A financing round led by O.G. Venture Partners and M Ventures, the corporate strategic venture arm of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, with participation from existing and new investors including NFX, Vine Ventures, Qumra Capital, TechAviv, 97212 Ventures, Fresh Fund, PsyMed Ventures, Tadmor Group, Key1 Capital, and IT-Farm Corp.4 The round brings total capital raised by the company to $62 million.

The proceeds are expected to accelerate Remepy's pharmaceutical co-development partnerships and the expansion of its Hybrid Drug pipeline and platform, as well as fund the global Phase III clinical development of Hybridopa, the company's lead program for Parkinson's disease.5

Remepy partners with pharmaceutical companies to develop Hybrid Drugs, a class of treatment that combines prescription medicines with personalized, AI-driven therapeutic apps, integrating pharmacology with adaptive physical, cognitive and behavioral interventions into a single treatment delivered through the standard prescription model.4 The Hybrid Drug model is supported by emerging FDA frameworks for drug-software combination products and is gaining industry momentum, according to the company.5

"We believe medicine is entering a new era, where every breakthrough drug will be paired with personalized intelligence to maximize its impact for every patient," said Michal Tsur, PhD, and Or Shoval, co-chief executive officers of Remepy. "Over the past year, we've demonstrated that this vision is achievable through clinical validation, peer-reviewed science, regulatory alignment, and partnerships with leading pharmaceutical companies. This financing allows us to advance Phase III of Hybridopa for Parkinson's disease, and expand the Hybrid Drug model across multiple therapeutic areas."
